2006 Notice To CompetitorsThe points-based omnium is being conducted under USCF road racing rules. The omnium offers prizes for all entrants in each of their categories and a cash purse in all categories. All entrants will be eligible for the omnium cash purse. The cash purse will be payed out as a combined category. Whoever has the highest points wins first place in the Omnium and so on. Each entrant with the highest points in their respective category will also win a custom points leader jersey. Each entrant with the highest points in their respective category will also receive one entry to a raffle to win a new Javelin Bike!! To be eligible for the omnium you must start at least three of the six events listed below: Gypsum Criterium #1 - 7/1/06 Gypsum Criterium #2 - 7/22/06 Gypsum Criterium #3 - 8/12/06 Eagle Valley Classic Hill Climb: In each category the points scales are defined by rule 4C3a. Ties will be broken according to rule 4C3c. If this doesn’t resolve a tie, placing at the last event completed by the riders involved will be used. If there is a tie for first place in the omnium the rider with the largest percentage margin of victory will be the overall winner (That riders winning margin divided by their winning time). Ties for other places in the final will remain unbroken: the prizes will be combined and divided equally. Omnium categories are as
follows: Juniors 10-14 Men Pro, 1,2,3 Master Men 35+ Jr Men 15-16 Men 4, 5 Master Men 45+ Jr Men 17-18 Master Men 55+ Women Pro, 1,2,3 Jr Women 15-16 Women 4 Master Women 35+ Jr Women 17-18 Masters Women 45+ Field Size: If there are fewer than four entrants in any category that category shall be eliminated from the omnium. The riders have the option of competing in any other category they are eligible for. Rule 1G7 also applies to the championship events. If a rider with points is eliminated from the omnium competition their points shall remain in abeyance: Places and points will not be re-assigned to succeeding riders. Protests concerning conduct during a stage must be submitted immediately after the finish of that category’s stage. Questions about placings or standings must be submitted at least one hour before the next event for that category. Omnium Cash Purse ($1500) – Each rider’s points will be accumulated and the
highest point totals will be win first place and so on.
